Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This policy explains what OptiLink Pro ("the app") does and does not collect, in plain terms, organized by feature. The app is a router/modem management tool — it connects directly to your own router's admin interface over your local network to show status and change settings.

Your router login and settings

The username, password, and host address you use to log into your router are stored only on your own device, in Android's encrypted secure storage. They are used solely to talk directly to your router over your local network (e.g. 192.168.1.1) — they are never sent to any server we operate, and we have no way to see them.

Everything the app reads or changes on the Devices, Wi-Fi, WAN, MAC Filter, Parental Control, and similar screens — connected device lists, Wi-Fi passwords, filter rules, and so on — comes directly from your router and stays between your device and your router. None of it passes through our servers.

Fingerprint / biometric login

If you turn on fingerprint login, the app asks your phone's operating system to verify your fingerprint and only receives a yes/no result back. Your actual fingerprint data is handled entirely by your device's operating system and hardware — the app never sees it, stores it, or transmits it anywhere.

Global Speed Index (optional, opt-out anytime)

The Speed Test screen can anonymously contribute your result to a crowd-sourced index of ISP speeds, so you can compare against other users on the same ISP. This is on by default but can be turned off at any time from Advanced Settings → Privacy → "Contribute to Global Speed Index".

When this is on, each submitted result includes only:

  • Your ISP name and approximate city/country (as reported by a public IP lookup)
  • The measured download speed, upload speed, and ping from that one test

No account identifier, device identifier, or router credential is included. Submitted results are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Basic usage statistics

The app records anonymous, aggregate counts — app opens, speed tests run, which modem brands and screens are used — to help us understand which features are actually used. These counts are tied to a random ID generated on your device (not your name, email, or any account), and that ID resets if you uninstall and reinstall the app. No individual "your usage" profile is built from this — only totals across all users.

Push notifications

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send occasional announcements (e.g. app updates). Your device subscribes to a single shared broadcast topic — we do not maintain a list of individual users or target notifications to you personally.

Advertising

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob (banner, native, and rewarded ad formats). Google and its advertising partners may collect data such as your advertising ID, approximate location, and app usage to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app shows Google's consent dialog before requesting any ad, and you can review or change that choice anytime from Advanced Settings → Privacy → "Ad Privacy Options".

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't have user accounts, so there's no profile of you tied to a name or email in our systems.
  • We don't access your router credentials — they never leave your device.
  • We don't read your fingerprint data — your device's OS handles that entirely.

Data retention

Router credentials and settings live only on your device and are removed when you log out or uninstall the app. Global Speed Index submissions expire automatically after 30 days. Aggregate usage counts are not tied to anything identifiable and are kept indefinitely in summary form.

Children's privacy

OptiLink Pro is a network administration tool intended for general audiences managing their own home or office router, not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
